Our costs vary depending on the size of band, travel and setup times. Please contact us for a quote with details on band size required, venue and event details.
A deposit of £250 secures the date for Brother Ray to perform at your event.
Brother Ray perform a mixture of Disco, Funk, Soul and Pop Covers. Our setlist ranges from the 1960’s to the modern day. We are happy to tailor our setlist to your event and include any specific songs from our set. Our set may vary between band sizes. You can view our repertoire on our PLAYLIST page.
We perform 2 x 45 minute sets. We usually perform additional songs at the end of our performance should the venues curfew permit. We are happy to perform longer sets for which an additional fee will apply.
We play a few public gigs throughout the year however our main performances are for private clients, corporate events and weddings. We have a number of videos available on our packages page and reviews from past clients on our reviews page. Our Acoustic Duo perform publicly all over South Wales so do enquire about upcoming dates.
We require at least 2 independent 13 amp sockets. If you’re hiring a marquee company, please advise that our PA system and lighting use approximately 2kw.
Yes. We will supply these documents with our booking form. These can be supplied to your venue if and when requested.
We usually arrive at 6pm to setup for our evening performance or when your room is being refreshed/prepared for the evening. If you require an earlier setup to fit in with your room refresh/start time do let us know. Early afternoon setup may incur an additional fee.

Yes, we are happy to setup early in order to suit your events timings. An additional early setup fee will apply.
Yes, we are happy to play outdoors providing there is suitable flooring and covering for all band members and equipment is provided along with access to 2 power points.
Loading in and setting up takes an hour. We need this time to get all of our equipment in and to run a soundcheck to ensure our sound is spot on for your event! If the wedding timings/event is running overtime we will still need an hour in order to setup. Similarly it takes us around 45 minutes to load-out following our performance.
Our Acoustic Duo require 30 minutes in order to setup and set down.
We have bookings up to a two years in advance so booking as soon as possible is recommended. Get in touch via our contact page to check availability.
Yes. We are happy to include an up-to-date I pod playlist service in with our fee which we can play after we setup and in between our performances. Feel free to send us a list of any songs you would like included on this. A small additional charge will apply for the ipod service after our second performance up to the venues curfew.
We strongly encourage all dancing and singing at all times!… However, due to the amount of heavy equipment, cables and expensive gear we have on stage we don’t allow guests onto the stage during our performance. This would also render our Public Liability insurance invalid. If the performance is disrupted by any unreasonable guests whom we deem unmanageable we may cease playing and the booking party will still be charged for the full performance.
It is important that our equipment is not used/played with during sets as damage to equipment/PA/instruments will be chargeable to the booking party.
We are however happy to prior arrange any guest performances i.e. a friend who would like to sing a track with the band/the groom singing for the bride!
Do encourage your guests to be safe and stick to the dancefloor, which we will ensure to be full and funky all night!
As we work long days and don’t arrive home until the early hours, some hot food and drink is always highly appreciated. We are often told to ‘help ourselves’ at many events, but do appreciate that some meals may be strictly for guests only. On these occasions we would not expect the same standard as your guests but would very much appreciate something to keep us going throughout the evening! If it is not possible to provide the band with any catering please let us know in advance in order for us to make other arrangements.
Yes, we work all over the UK and beyond. We are based in Cardiff so additional travel fees may apply when travelling further afield.
Brother Ray have performed together as a band for over 8 years. As individual musicians the band consists of top session musicians and professional producers who work with UK chart artists. We are happy to learn any additional songs including your first dance for a small additional fee.
We are happy to fit in around your schedule for the evening. We find that performing after 9pm and after evening food is served ensures that everyone is ready and free to party with us!
If booking the acoustic duo performance times can be tailed to the timings your drinks reception/event.
In the event of cancellation the following applies:

There is no refund of the deposit in any instance.
Cancellation more than 12 weeks prior to event – no additional charge.
Cancellation within 12 weeks of the event – you would be required to pay 100% of the remaining fee.
We understand that the cancellation of your event can be a stressful/expensive situation however these conditions are strictly non-negotiable. If you intend to reschedule/postpone your event then please get in touch ASAP so that further arrangements can be made.
